1. The main reason Sophia wants to swap garden plots is because .....

she wants to be closer to the tool shed.

her current plot doesn't get enough sunlight.

she prefers the soil quality in Marianne's plot.

she wants to grow different types of vegetables.

2. According to Sophia, plot #14 would be good for Marianne because .....

it has rich soil from years of composting.

it's closer to the garden entrance.

it's larger than Marianne's current plot.

it has better irrigation than other plots.

3. Sophia suggests making the swap .....

before the Harvest Festival in September.

after the Johnsons move away in May.

during the community clean-up event.

when she starts her seedlings next weekend.

4. As a thank-you for swapping plots, Sophia offers .....

to share her tomato harvest.

some raspberry plants.

to help with Marianne's gardening.

her zucchini bread recipe.

5. Sophia needs to know Marianne's decision soon because .....

the garden committee needs to approve the swap.

she wants to plan her garden layout.

the Spring Clean-Up Day is approaching quickly.

she needs to prepare her seedlings appropriately.

6. The purpose of this email is to .....

complain about the garden plot assignment process.

request a trade of garden plots with Marianne.

share gardening tips about growing in shade.

inform Marianne about available plots opening up.

Dear Sophia, Thank you for your email. I completely understand your with plot #14's shade issues. I've noticed how the maple trees affect that whole section, especially in late summer. Your proposal is actually quite ! I've been wanting to expand my herb garden, and as you correctly remembered, I'm planning to focus on shade-tolerant varieties this year. The rich soil you've developed would be perfect for what I have in mind. I'd be happy to with you during the Spring Clean-Up Day. That timing works well for me, and I appreciate your offer to help with moving my perennials. I'm particularly excited about your - that's incredibly generous! I've been wanting to try growing berries but wasn't sure which varieties do well in our climate. Let's definitely plan to meet up on April 23rd to coordinate. I'll bring some of my seedlings for you as well - they did amazingly well in full sun last year. Best regards, Marianne
