Hi Jen, I'm so excited you're joining the Forest Conservation Volunteer Program! Since you mentioned you're interested in 1 ...., I wanted to share some information about the equipment and training you'll need. First, don't worry about buying too much gear. The program provides several items including 2 .... which will be essential during our summer sessions. You'll need to bring your own hiking boots though - make sure they have good ankle support as we'll be on uneven terrain. Regarding training, everyone has to attend the 3 .... which runs monthly. Since you're interested in plant identification, there's a great series that meets 4 .... throughout the summer months. The locations rotate so you'll get to explore different parts of the forest. I'm planning to take the leadership training in July. It's an overnight program, and the best part is that 5 .... so we don't need to bring tents or sleeping bags. Let me know if you have any questions. I've been volunteering for two years now and it's been an amazing experience! Cheers, Mike
